Fenton Cooperative Telephone Company offers the Lifeline program – Low income telephone assistance

Lifeline is a plan that assists qualified low-income Iowans by providing a monthly reduction of $5.25 on their local telephone bill. To be eligible for lifeline assistance, you must meet income-based criterion currently defined as at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty guidelines or participate in at least one of the following programs: Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP), Supplemental Social Security Income (SSI), Federal Assistance to needy Families (TANF), National School Lunch Program (NSL). In addition, you must not currently be receiving Lifeline assistance, and no other person in your household can be subscribed to the Lifeline program. To apply for Lifeline you will need to complete the Iowa Lifeline Certification Form and return to Fenton Cooperative Telephone Company along with supporting documents. Iowa Lifeline Forms are available at the Fenton Cooperative Telephone Company business office located at 300 2nd St. Fenton Iowa.
